Dr. Julius N. Korley is a businessperson, entrepreneur and scientist with expertise in several areas of biotechnology, including biomaterials, drugs, drug-delivery systems and medical device development. Presently, Dr. Korley is the Associate Vice President for the Office of Economic Innovation & Partnerships (OEIP) at the University of Delaware. He also holds a secondary appointment as an associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The mission of OEIP is to promote and facilitate the commercialization of University of Delaware technologies for the benefit of the public and the university. Previously, Dr. Korley was the Director of Entrepreneurship and Strategic Partnerships for the College of Engineering (COE) at the University of Delaware. In this role, Dr. Korley was responsible for driving commercialization by helping COE faculty, postdocs and students develop their technologies and connecting them to the startup and industry communities. Mike was the business founder and vice president and general manager of DuPont’s Advanced Material Systems. Most recently, he was the chairman and president of the Delaware Technology Park. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Fraunhofer USA, DE Bio Science Association, and First State Innovation.

Amalea is responsible for leading the operational functions of HR, budget, finance, brand development, and the integration of these functions to support all units of OEIP. Amalea manages the integration of program activities for all units to ensure a seamless process. Amalea also leads the Spin In® program, which partners interdisciplinary teams of students with faculty and entrepreneurs who have promising ideas.

Dr. Walt Blaney is the Director of the Delaware PTAC at the University of Delaware. Walt joined PTAC in 2018. Prior to joining PTAC, Walt was owner and principal consultant/trainer of a VOSB, Contract Management Consultant (CMC). Walt spent 40 years in Federal government acquisition and contracting as a contract specialist/contracting officer in DoD and other Federal agencies. Walt retired as a Navy Supply Corps Commander after 32 years of service as a contracting and logistics officer. Walt has also worked in academia as a certified comprehensive science teacher in NJ public schools, an assistant professor at Nyack University, and a Project Officer on a TITLE II Science—Technology—Mathematics grant at Rowan University. Walt is certified CPCM, DAWIA Level III Contracting, and VA Verification Assistance Counselor.
